Diethoxymethyl Protected Indoles: Synthesis and Regioselective Transformations.

-The diethoxymethyl group is used for the nitrogen protection of indoles such as (I). It is found to be efficient as an N-directed metalation group allowing the preparation of regioselectively substituted indoles.
