Dicobaltoarsenate-(CoAsO7)-Groups in the Cobalt Oxide Tellurate Co6O2( TeO4(CoAsO5)2). -Violet single crystals of the title compound are synthesized by solid state reaction at 800 • C. Structure determination of the novel compound by single-crystal XRD shows that this compound (orthorhombic, Cmca, Z = 4) belongs to a new structure type. The structure is characterized by the hitherto unknown group CoAsO7, by Co6O19 units derived from edge-sharing CoO6 octahedra and forming 1∞(Co6O16) chains, and by TeO6 octahedra.
