Design and Synthesis of Novel Nonpeptide CCK-B Receptor Antagonists.

-The target compounds (V) are designed by combination of the key fragments of two series of known CCK-B receptor antagonists. In the course of the investigation a one-pot procedure to prepare quinazolinones (III) from the corresponding benzoic acid derivatives ( I) and an efficient approach to 2-aminoquinazolinones is developed. Higher homologue (Vd) and lower homologue (VIII) exhibit significant lower binding affinity for the receptor than (Vb) (no yields given).
