Design and Preparation of 3,3'-Disubstituted 2,2'-Bis(oxazolyl)-1,1'binaphthyls (boxax): New Chiral Bis(oxazoline) Ligands for Catalytic Asymmetric Wacker-Type Cyclization.

-Some new chiral ligands are prepared. Among them the ligand shown in entry A) is the most effective one for Wacker-type cyclization of the o-allylphenol (II). The amount of ligand as well as the temperature are found to effect the stereochemical outcome.
