Derivatives of Imidazole. Part 32. 1,2-Bis(1',3'-dimethylimidazolin-2'-iminato)ethane -A Novel Chelating Ligand.

-Synthesis of title compound (I) is achieved in good yield by reaction of 2-imino-1,3dimethylimidazoline with 1,2-ethylene ditosylate.

This new bifunctional N-donor ligand is isolated as colorless solid, sensitive to air, with uncommon coordination properties, expressed by red coloring of its PdCl 2 complex.
