β¦ Synopsis
Dehydration of Aldoximes to Nitriles Using a Polymeric Reagent. -Polyvinylpyrrolidone-SOCl 2 -mediated dehydration of aldoximes (I) proceeds rapidly under mild conditions to furnish the corresponding nitriles in high yields. The reaction tolerates aliphatic, olefinic, heteroaromatic, and aromatic aldoximes as well as electron-donating and -accepting aryl substituents. -
