β¦ Synopsis
Cu 2 O as a Photocatalyst for Overall Water Splitting under Visible Light Irradiation.
-Based on photoelectrochemical studies, Cu 2 O has been regarded as an unstable material for water decomposition under light irradiation. However, the present study of the photocatalytic decomposition of water to H 2 and O 2 using visible light irradiation (ΒΏ 460 nm) reveals CuO 2 to be an suitable photocatalytic material. The water splitting over Cu 2 O powder proceeds without noticeable activity loss for mor than 1900 h. -(HARA, M.;
