β¦ Synopsis
1997 reduction, hydrogenation reduction, hydrogenation O 0220 47 -057 (Cp2ZrHCl)n, a Useful Reducing Agent in Phosphorus Chemistry.
-The title reagent is useful for the reduction of phosphine oxides or sulfides such as (I), (III), and (V) to the corresponding phosphines or for selective chlorine-hydride exchange on the iminophosphorane (VI) . By contrast, selective carbonyl hydrozirconation takes place in the case of aldehyde (VIII); similarly, C=C hydrozirconation occurs in the case of vinylphosphine oxides or sulfides. In the stepwise reduction and cleavage of (XI), ring opening of the lactone is not observed. -(ZABLOCKA, M.;
