Convergent Synthesis of the Putative Biogenetic Precursor of Mycaperoxide B and a Norsesterterpene Triene Isolated from an Australian Sponge.

-A flexible approach for the enantio-and diastereocontrolled construction of the carbon nucleus of a family of marine norsesterterpenes [cf. (V) and (VIII)] is presented.
