✦ Synopsis
Convenient Preparation of Stable, Narrow-Dispersity, Gold Nanocrystals by Ligand Exchange Reactions.
-Thiol-stabilized Au clusters are prepared from Au 55 (PPh 3 ) 12 Cl 6 and 1-propanethiol, 1-octadecanethiol and 4-mercaptobiphenyl (MBP) in CH 2 Cl 2 . The clusters have narrow size distributions around 1.7 nm and excellent thermal and air stability. It is suggested that they will be excellent candidates for the fabrication of tunable single-electron-transfer devices. -(
