✦ Synopsis

Conformationally Restricted Analogues of Nicotine and Anabasine.

-A series of conformationally restricted analogues of nicotine, e.g. (V) and (VIII), are synthesized according to the scheme. In addition, compound (Va) is resolved into its enantiomers using D-di-p-toluoyltartaric acid. The biological evaluation reveals, that (Va) shows affinity for nicotine binding sites.
