Condensation of Trichloro-and Trifluoroacetonitriles with 4-Acylamino-4-methylpentan-2-ones.

-Condensation of the title pentanones (I) with trihalogenoacetonitriles (II) proceeds in the presence of (N-ethylanilino)magnesium bromide to afford the (β-aminovinyl)-β'acylaminoketones (III) in low yields. Acidic hydrolysis of the β-amino ketones (III) smoothly provides the β-diketones (IV), existing as the enol tautomer, with preservation of the β'-acylamino group. -(SOSNOVSKIKH, V. YA.; Zh.
