Catalytic Synthesis of 3-Vinyl-2,5-dihydrofurans from Yne-Enes Promoted by Photochemically Activated Metal-Allenylidene LnRu=C=C=CR 2 Complex.

-The ruthenium(II)-allenylidene salt [(p-cumene)(PCy 3 )ClRu=C=C=CPh 2 ]PF 6 acts as novel olefin metathesis catalyst precursor for the transformation of the mixed propargylic allyl ethers (I) into 3-vinyl-2,5-dihydrofurans (II) (7 examples). Initial photochemical irradiation efficiently promotes the catalytic activity.
