## Abstract The first general catalytic asymmetric bromination and chlorination of β‐ketoesters has been developed. The reactions proceed for both acyclic and cyclic β‐ketoesters catalyzed by chiral bisoxazolinecopper(II) complexes giving the corresponding optically active α‐bromo‐ and α‐chloro‐β‐k
