Carbon-Carbon Bond Formation via Palladium-Catalyzed Reductive Coupling in Air.
-The novel Pd-catalyzed Ullmann-type reductive coupling of aryl halides (I) to biaryls (II) can be readily conducted in aqueous acetone and under an air atmosphere. In the case of bromide (III), only dehalogenation is observed.
