## Abstract Single‐phase Bi~1‐x~La~x~FeO~3~ powders with x = 0, 0.08, 0.15, and 0.30 are prepared by esterification of the corresponding metal citrates with ethylene glycol followed by decomposition of the organic residues at 300 Β°C and calcination at 850 Β°C (alumina crucible, 2 h).
