Bis(pentafluorophenyl)tin Dibromide as a Novel Organotin Halide Lewis Acid Catalyst. -It is reported for the first time, that the diorganotin dihalide (IV) ( FPTB), in which the acidity is appropriately enhanced by the pentafluorophenyl groups, is a useful catalyst for the aldol-like condensation of a variety of nucleophiles with various electrophiles.
