Abstract

Asymmetric [4 + 2] cycloaddition of β,γ‐unsaturated α‐keto esters (I) and (IV) with oxazolones (II) proceeds with excellent diastereoselectivity and high enantioselectivity (up to 97% e.e.) in the presence of a quinidine‐derived bifunctional organocatalyst (NQD).
