β¦ Synopsis
BaCu10P4: A New Structure Composed of Chains of Edge-Shared Cu4 Tetrahedra.
-The novel title compound is prepared in quantitative yield by heating of stoichiometric mixtures of the elements at 1200 β’ C. The structure (monoclinic, C2/m, Z = 4), determined by powder and singlecrystal XRD methods, represents a new type of chains of edge-sharing Cu4 tetrahedral prisms, which are connected by P atoms. The metallic character, shown by temp.-dependent resistivity measurements, is confirmed by extended Hueckel band structure calculations. -(YOUNG, D. M.;
