-High resolution neutron diffraction results obtained at 293, 20, and 1. 5 K show that the title compound (hexagonal, space group P6/mmm) is a partly disordered derivative of the HfFe6Ge6 type structure. The observed atomic disorder leads to an easy magnetization axis of the Tb moments different from that found for the completely ordered isomorphic compound TbMn6Ge6. TbCr6Ge6 orders with a canted ferrimagnetic moment arrangement below Tc = 10.3 K. -(SCHOBINGER-PAPAMANTELLOS, P.;

The new title compounds are prepared by heat treatment of the constituent elements (773 K, 3 d) followed by annealing (900 K, 3 weeks). The compounds crystallize in the hexagonal HfFe 6 Ge 6 type structure (space group P6/mmm).
