-Two novel ethyl(trimethyl)cyclopentadienylrhodium complexes [(η 6 -C 6 H 6 )Rh (η 5 -EtMe 3 C 5 H)] (PF 6 ) 2 (Ia) and Rh 2 Cl 4 (η 5 -C 5 EtMe 3 H) 2 are prepared starting from methyl ethyl ketone using standard techniques. They possess excellent catalytic activity comparable to the known pentamethylcyclopentadienyl (Ic) and ethyltetramethylcyclopentadienyl analogues (Ib) in the alkoxydehalogenation of aryl halogenides like compounds (II) and (V) even with higher alcohols. -(GORYUNOV, L.
