Abstract

The reaction of 2‐alkynylbenzaldehydes with sulfonohydrazide and either bromine or iodine, followed by reaction with an aldehyde or ketone affords the corresponding bromo‐ or iodo‐substituted title compounds which undergo Suzuki—Miyaura cross‐coupling reactions.
