An Easy and Efficient Method for Oxidation of Alcohols and Aromatic Amines to the Corresponding Carbonyl and Azo Compounds under Non-Aqueous and Neutral Conditions.

-The oxidant (III), readily prepared from commercially available DABCO as an orange solid, is useful for oxidation of alcohols and aromatic amines. The reagent is ineffective in oxidizing double bonds, aldehydes and ketones. The method is superior to previously reported methods in terms of selectivity, yields and purity of the products.
