Ylide Complexes of Tungsten(0) and Chromium(0): Synthesis and Cascade Insertion Reactions.
-Reaction of complex (I) with 1,2-dihydropyridine leads to a mixture of two separable complexes. The related chromium complex behaves similarly. Thermolysis of the more polar pyridinium ylide complex (IV) affords an intermediate ketene as the result of the insertions of the triple bond and of CO. This intermediate can be trapped by methanol to give the esters (VII) and (VIII) and by dihydrofuran to give the adducts (X) and (XI). -(MARTIN-VACA,
