β¦ Synopsis
AgRhO 2 , and the New Quaternary Delafossites AgLi 1/3 M 2/3 O 2 , Syntheses and Analyses of Real Structures. -The new delafossite type compounds AgLi1/3M2/3O2 (M: Rh, Ir) are synthesized by reaction of Li2RhO3 and Li2IrO3 in a AgNO3/KNO3 (2:1) melt (sealed glass tube, Ar, 623 K, 350 h). The samples are characterized by powder XRD, TEM, electronic conductivity, and magnetic measurements. The compounds, as well as the structurally similar AgRhO 2 crystallize in the space group R3m with Z = 3. AgRhO2 exhibits temperature independent paramagnetism. For the new compounds an effective magnetic moment of 1.77 ΞΌB for Ir, and 1.70 ΞΌB for Rh are determined applying the Curie-Weiss law. All compounds are semiconducting. -(TODOROVA, V.;
