Ab initio Structure Solution from X-Ray Powder Data at Moderate Resolution: Crystal Structure of a Microporous Layer Silicate.
-Based on the powder XRD data, the structure of the layered microporous Na-silicate RUB-18 is determined by a general direct strategy applying the sum function tangent formula followed by Rietveld analysis. The results lead to the formula Na8(Si32O64(OH)8)โข32 H2O for RUB-18, the structure of which is characterized by layers of SiO4 tetrahedra and chains of edge-sharing NaO6 octahedra.
