A Unique Metallic System Ce 3 Pt 23 Ge 11 .

-The single phase compound is prepared by arc-melting of the elements in an argon atmosphere followed by annealing at 600 • C for 600 h. The results of magnetic, electrical, and specific heat measurements for single crystal and polycrystalline samples are presented. This compound is a metal with normal Ce 3+ magnetic behavior.
