A Two-Dimensional Topological Structure and a Series of Corresponding Plate-Like Ln(IO3)3(H2O)•H2O (Ln: Nd, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy) Nanomaterials: Synthesis, Structures and Properties. -The title nanomaterials are precipitated from aqueous solutions of Ln(NO3)3 (Ln: Nd, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy) and KIO3 (293 K, ~72% yield). Eu(IO3)3(H2O)•H2O (I) is also prepared by hydrothermal reaction of Eu(NO3)3 and KIO3 (autoclave, 395 K, 5 d). (I) crystallizes in the triclinic space group P1 with Z = 2 (single crystal XRD) and exhibits a two-dimensional layered structure with an unprecedented binodal (3,5)-connected net.
