✦ Synopsis

A Succinylanthranilic Acid Ester and Other Bioactive Constituents of Jolyna laminarioides.

-The title ester (I) is isolated for the first time together with fucosterol, trans-phytol, and p-formylphenol from the dark brown alga J. laminarioides. The structure of (I) is established by spectroscopic means. Ester (I) exhibits chymotrypsin inhibitory activity and antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli and Shigella boydii. -(ATTA-UR-RAHMAN;
