✦ Synopsis

The title reaction is carried out with an alkyne-Co 2 (CO) 8 complex, generated in situ using sub-stoichiometric amounts of CoBr 2 and Zn at atmospheric pressure of carbon monoxide. Its coupling with the olefins (II) and (V) in the presence of CO completes the Pauson-Khand reaction providing the cyclopentenone derivatives (IV) and (VI). -(RAJESH, THOTAPALLY; PERIASAMY,
