A Study on 4,5-Dihydro-1H-1,2,4-triazol-5-ones.

-Phthalimides like (V) are obtained by the reaction of the title triazoles (IV) with phthalic anhydride at high temperature. In the case of compound (I) and (VI) the reaction gives the corresponding benzoic acids (III) and (VII), resp., at lower temperatures, which are discussed as intermediates in the formation of phthalimides. -(IKIZLER, A.
