β¦ Synopsis
A Simple and Convenient Method for the Deprotection of Tetrahydropyranyl Ether Using Iodine in Methanol.
-Iodine in methanol selectively cleaves primary and secondary tetrahydropyranyl and 4,4'-dimethoxytrityl protecting groups. Other protecting groups (such as benzoyl, benzyl, tert-butyloxycarbonyl, tert-butyldimethylsilyl, and isopropylidene) remain unaffected. The reaction may also be performed with catalytic amounts of iodine but the use of stoichiometric amounts of iodine is recommended. -(RAMASAMY,
