A Novel Sulfated Steroid with a 7-Membered 5-Oxalactone B-Ring from an Antarctic Starfish of the Family Asteriidae.
-The structurally novel title steroid asterasterol A (I) is isolated along with the novel steroids asterasterol B (IIa) and asterasterol C ( IIb). Their structures are determined by spectroscopic means. (IIb) shows moderate cytotoxic activity in vitro. -(
