✦ Synopsis
A Novel Ruthenium-Catalyzed Tandem Diyne Cycloisomerization-Cross Metathesis Process.
-Ruthenium-catalyzed cycloisomerization of hepta-1,6-diyne as well as related N-and O-containing symmetrical diynes (IV) in the presence of functionalized terminal olefins (II) yields five-membered cyclic products with variable unsaturated side chains (III) (10 examples). Cyclization -cross metathesis reaction of unsymmetrical diyne (IV) proceeds with marked regioselectivity. A plausible reaction mechanism for this novel tandem process is proposed.
