A New Synthesis of Hydroxyapatite.

-In a novel route for the preparation of a nonstoichiometric Ca-deficient hydroxyapatite, Ca10x(HPO4)x(PO4)3-x(OH) in the temperature range 500-600 β€’ C, ethylene glycol solutions of Ca(OAc)2β€’ xH2O and BuOH solutions of P2O5 are used as precursors and HOAc and NH4NO3 as stabilizer and oxidizer, respectively. This process can be used for the preparation of hydroxyapatite coatings. -
