## Abstract 3‐Nitrochromenes are readily converted into 4‐phosphorylchromenes on treatment with dialkyl phosphite in the presence of triethylamine in 60–70% yield. This method provides a general method for the preparation of alkenyl phosphonates from nitroalkenes and dialkyl phosphite.
