A New Series of Coumarin Derivatives Having Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitory Activity from Monascus anka.

-Six new coumarin derivatives such as (I) and (II), named monankarins A-F are isolated from the culture medium of the title species. Their structures are elucidated by spectroscopic methods and chemical modifications. The compounds (IIa) and (IIb) must be diastereomers of ( Ia) and (Ib) concerning to differences in the CD-spectra. The title biological activity is tested and the results are presented.
