1,2a)pyrazines. -An expedient one-pot synthesis of the title compounds, which are of interest as chemotherapeutics or as organic dyes, is presented. Mechanistical key steps in this synthesis are a (4 + 2) cycloaddition and a ring opening process followed by 1
