Stereodivergent Access to Carbohydrate Mimetics. -Lewis acid promoted cyclization of 1,3-dioxolanyl-substituted enol ethers is a key en route to highly functionalized pyrans. All reactions can be performed on a gram scale. The same sequences can also be carried out with the enantiomer of (I) (to be continued). -(
