A New CVD Route for the Synthesis of Composite Diamond-Based Materials.

-Nanodispersions of metallic or ceramic phases in diamond matrices are produced by activation of a hydrocarbon/hydrogen mixture with a hot filament in a reactor fitted with a powder-spraying system. It is indicated that, for a given metal powder, the chemical state as well as the degree of grain dispersion and size distributions throughout the matrix can be controlled by changing only a few parameters of the CVD/powder-spraying process. -
