✦ Synopsis

A New and Convenient Synthesis of Some Substituted Thiohydantoins. -3-Substituted thiohydantoins (III) (7 examples) are synthesized in satisfactory yields by base-mediated reaction of thioureas (I) with chloroacetyl chloride (II). The thiohydantoins smoothly undergo S-alkylation [β†’(V)]. -
