## Abstract Various 2‐aryloxazoline ligands, especially o‐hydroxyaryl‐substituted ones, are prepared via conversion of arylaldehydes to the corresponding nitriles following by ZnCl~2~‐catalyzed reaction with 2‐amino alcohols.
