A Facile and Convenient Synthetic Method for Fluorine-Containing 1,2-Dihydropyrimidines and Pyrimidines.

-Base-mediated condensation of the amine (I) with a variety of aldehydes (II) generates the dihydropyrimidines (III) which are easily dehydrogenated to the pyrimidines (IV) in good yields.
