✦ Synopsis

A Convenient Synthesis of 1,2-Dihydro-1,2,4-triazolo[3,2-b]quinazolin-9(1H)-ones and Their 1,2,4-Triazolo Derivatives.

-The one-step reaction of (I) with aldehydes such as (II) in the presence of piperidine as a base affords the title compound (III), some of which would be tedious to prepare otherwise. Reaction of (I) with active methylene compounds results in the formation of condensation products such as (VII). Reaction of (I) with boiling acetic anhydride causes dimerization to give the pentacyclic structure (IX). -
