β¦ Synopsis
A Convenient Approach to Chiral Sulfoxides by Enantioselective Oxidation with a Steroidal Furylhydroperoxide.
-Asymmetric oxidation of sulfides as well as kinetic resolution of racemic sulfoxides in the presence of the hydroperoxide shown in the scheme offer efficient routes to chiral sulfoxides. Additionally, it is shown that the bornyl analogue of the hydroperoxide also affords satisfactory results in asymmetric oxidation and kinetic resolution.
