A Concise Synthesis of Symmetric 1,3,5-C3-Trisubstituted Benzenes.

-Tribromobenzene (I) reacts smoothly with methyl acrylate via Heck reaction to yield benzenetriacrylate (III), which represents a versatile starting material for syntheses of various trisubstituted benzenes containing three-carbon chains (cf. (IV)-(VI)).
