-The structure of the title compounds (V) varies with the size of the lanthanoid cation. The compounds with Ln: Y and Gd crystallize in the orthorhombic space group P212121 with Z = 4 (single crystal XRD data for KYP2Se6). In the layered structure the Y atoms are bound to four distinct (P2Se6)4-units. Each anion possesses a Se atom that is not bound to Y and points out into the interlayer spacing where the K+ ions are located. The compounds of the larger lanthanoids (La, Ce, Pr) crystallize in a monoclinic polytype, space group P21/c. - (CHEN,
