Abstract

A practical route for the synthesis of differently 2โ€substituted 5โ€bromopyridines is developed by generating stable pyridylzinc iodide from 5โ€bromoโ€2โ€iodopyridine and Rieke zinc followed by coupling with activated organic halides.
