✦ Synopsis

4-Dimethylaminomethylene-2-pyrazinyl-5(4H)-oxazolone as a Synthon for the Synthesis of Various Pyrazoles and Fused Pyrimidines.

-The title oxazolone (I) is prepared and applied to the synthesis of various types of heterocycles. Reaction with hydrazines generates pyrazolone derivatives. Fused pyrimidines are achieved by the reaction with aminoheterocycles (V) and (VII).
