-The photocycloaddition reaction of 5-arylfurandiones (I) to trimethylsilyloxyethylenes proceeds with excellent 7-endo-OTms-7-exo-vinyl(phenyl) stereoselectivity to form the cis-fused cyclobutanofuranodiones (III) in moderate to high yields. This reaction provides an effective and facile access to polyfunctionalized cyclobutane derivatives. -
